World Cup starts in 9 days see the full performance lineup

Football has a way of bringing people together to celebrate momentous sporting achievements in camaraderie and good faith. The recently concluded Champions League final proved exactly that, with PSG lifting the trophy after a dramatic, close victory against Arsenal, leaving fans thrilled.

But the energy doesn’t stop there. the FIFA World Cup the spectacular quadrennial tournament where national teams compete for football’s ultimate prize. While Argentina took home the cup in the last match, this year’s FIFA World Cup is shaping up to be something entirely historic. Taking a page out of American football’s playbook, FIFA is introducing official halftime shows featuring a highly praised lineup of global superstars.

Every World Cup cycle brings an iconic anthem, but none have ever quite captured the world like Shakira’s legendary “Waka Waka.” It’s no surprise she has been called upon once again. This time, the global superstar has teamed up with African Giant Burna Boy for an infectious new tune titled “Dai Dai” a call for celebration that features Uganda’s Triplets Ghetto Kids in its vibrant music video.

As the June 11th kickoff fast approaches, anticipation is building for the carefully curated opening ceremonies and performances:

  • Mexico (June 11): Opening ceremony performances by Alejandro Fernández, J Balvin, and Tyla.
  • Canada (June 11): Opening ceremony performances by Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, and Michael Bublé.
  • United States (June 12): An all-star lineup in Los Angeles featuring Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, Rema, and Tyla.

This builds beautifully on the momentum from July 13, 2025, when Doja Cat and Tems made history by performing at the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup Halftime Show at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, marking the first-ever halftime show in a FIFA competition.

The grand finale of this musical integration will take place on July 19 at the New York/New Jersey Stadium, featuring a historic World Cup Halftime Show co-headlined by Madonna, Shakira, and BTS. Curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin and produced in partnership with Global Citizen, the show will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aiming to raise $100 million to expand access to education and football for children globally.

From Pop and R&B to Afrobeats, this tournament is set to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Be sure not to miss the World Cup action from June 11th to July 19th!
